PPS was incorporated in the State of Ohio in 1985 with the objective of supplying the plating industry with superior metal finishing processes and associated products at affordable prices.

PPS used their early years to introduce the HS (high speed) and CR (corrosion resistant) electroless nickel processes. Each process continues to uphold its reputation for reliability and affordable operation.

In 1988, PPS expanded their product line to include two bright nickel processes: MERIT M-2R, a regular performance, inexpensive, index-type bright nickel process and MERIT M-2, a high performance bright nickel process.

Subsequently, PPS introduced MERIT SB, a semibright nickel process, and HCR, a hexavalent chromium plating process. Combining a nickel undercoat consisting of MERIT SB, a layer of PPS bright nickel, followed by HCR chromium produces a duplex nickel/chromium process with leveling and corrosion-resistant properties useful in many exterior decorative applications.

In 1993, PPS introduced the TVC trivalent chromium plating process which provided the plating industry with an environmentally friendly chromium plating process with many advantages over hexavalent chromium plating processes. The TVC plating process has proven over the past decade to be a successful alternative to traditional hexavalent chromium plating.

The late 90’s saw the birth of a true non-index, extra leveling bright nickel plating process. MERIT M-3XL was developed to meet the high performance requirements demanded by the metal finishing industry. Like M-3XL, the WHITE SATIN plating process also found a home at PPS and in the decorative plating market. Uniform deposit, varying degrees of satin coverage, and use of air agitation are some of the advantages.

Customer, consumer, and performance driven, PPS continues to introduce new products. The latest entry, TriOnyxtm, is a true black chromium plating process. PPS offers a non-dye, high-leveling, bright acid copper plating process as well as a line of specialty products which compliment the decorative nickel/chromium plating process.

PPS is a major distributor of electropolishing solutions.
